It seems to me that many people still do not quite understand why it is so extremely dangerous to import the conflict in Palestine into domestic politics in Singapore.
This, of course, is quite bizarre given decades of education which I'm sure all Singaporeans have gone through. Which is also why it is strange that local politicians would choose to disregard those risks so casually.
It's not only about causing some fractures to local harmony or upsetting one part of the society that is emotionally invested in the conflict because of religion. It's about history and how it can be abused by hostile actors to inflict far more damage than you ever considered possible.
